| FIFA has immediately banned the All India Football Federation (AIFF). FIFA stated that the decision to suspend AIFF was made owing to “undue influence from other parties.” The planned Under-17 Women’s World Cup in India will no longer take place as a result of the ban. The AIFF was abolished by the Supreme Court of India in May, and the Federation was governed by a three-member committee. A committee has been constituted to modify the AIFF constitution and hold elections within 18 months. The ban will be removed whenever the AIFF administration regains complete control of daily operations.
